As we reported as the story broke:
#Bridgeport, CT – April 21, 2014 – Two teenagers were arrested on robbery charges after pulling a weapon on a man who confronted them over a stolen bicycle. Officer Michael Mazzacco responded to Park and Maplewood avenues Sunday at 7:39 p.m. on a report of a robbery with a firearm.
The victim stated that he had noticed his son’s bike missing from in front of his house and about 90 minutes later observed a young male on a bike that resembled his son’s. He pulled over his car and asked the youth to return the bike. The youth became belligerent, ran over to a second youth and pulled from a backpack what appeared to be a black revolver.
The victim stated he dropped the bike and called 911.
Office Paul Scillia heard a description over the police radio and observed two young males matching the descriptions. He and Officer Matthew Goncalves took the teens into custody and recovered two BB guns from a blue backpack.
The teens, 17 and 13, were charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny. The bike was recovered.
