(Bridgeport, CT – April 25, 2014) — The Statewide Urban Violence Task Force Thursday executed two search and seizure warrants and arrested two people in connection with an investigation into the sale of heroin.
Members of the Bridgeport Police Emergency Services Unit executed the warrants at two addresses.
The first location was the third-floor apartment at 215 Sheridan St. The second location was a second-floor apartment at 357 Nichols St.
Authorities seized from the Sheridan Street residence 302 baggies of heroin, about 4,500 empty, new and unused heroin baggies, grinders, scales and about 100 grams of cutting agents. Also seized was $5,900.
Seized from the Nichols Street residence were 50 baggies of heroin and $102 in cash.
The heroin seized from Sheridan Street was in baggies stamped with the words “New World”. Heroin found in New World baggies has been linked to Fentanyl-laced heroin overdose deaths in Connecticut. The heroin will be sent to the State toxicology laboratory for analysis.
Marcos Crespo, 54, of Sheridan Street, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school and operating a drug factory. His bond was set at $150,000.
Francisco Rodriguez, 58, was charged with possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school. His bond was set at $50,000. Both men are convicted felons.
