Bridgeport News: Subway Robbed

8:01pm--#Bridgeport CT--The Subway at 926 East Main Street was robbed at gunpoint.  Police are looking for a white male, about 6 foot tall wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, a partial lower face mask over his facial hair.  The part of the handle of the gun came off upon exiting the store. He made off with $200 and fled on foot north on East Main Street.  This was about a half mile from where the shooting took place around 7:30pm

Construction Begins on Police Memorial Honoring Fallen Officers

(Bridgeport, CT – March 12, 2014) – The city broke ground this week on a memorial to honor  the 12 Bridgeport police officers who died in the line of duty. “This is an inherently dangerous job,” said Police Chief Joseph L. Gaudett Jr., “and it is so important to honor and remember the people who gave their lives protecting our citizens. But it is more than that. This memorial is for their families. This will be for our past, current and future officers.
