#BRIDGEPORT, CT–January 8, 2014– Mayor Bill Finch today announced that the City’s Roadway Maintenance crews will begin picking up Christmas trees on Monday, January 13. The pickup will continue through Monday, January 20.

Residents are asked to place their trees at the curb and free of all ornaments and plastic bags. Trees with ornaments or wrapped in plastic will not be picked up.

Trees may also be disposed of at the City of Bridgeport’s Transfer Station at 475 Asylum Street. Christmas trees brought to the Transfer Station must also be free of all ornaments and plastic bags prior to disposal. Transfer Station’s winter hours are 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday (closed for lunch from Noon – 12:45 p.m.) and 7 a.m. to Noon on Saturday.
