#Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 4, 2013 – A 23-year-old man was charged with home invasion in connection with an incident in which a 78-year-old man was accosted in his apartment Tuesday.

Officer Michael Murcko met with the victim, who stated that he was inside his apartment at 140 Fairfield Ave. when someone knocked on the door. Two men forced their way in and bound his legs and feet.

He stated that the men demanded and stole cash.

Detectives Jorge Cintron and Todd Hoben responded to the scene.

Based on information from the patrol division and security footage, they determined that the victim arrived home shortly before noon. The two suspected robbers arrived about five minutes later and attempted to gain entry through the security door. Someone allowed them inside after one stated he was making a pharmacy delivery to one of the residents of the building.

Police took a picture of the suspects from the video. The victim identified the two men as his assailants and a short time later the person to whom the suspects claimed to be delivering medicine provided additional information that assisted police.

Cintron and Detective Tom Scholl then visited a Main Street pharmacy and showed the photo. There an employee, later identified as Keith Gonzalez, of Bridgeport,  viewed it and stated that the person in the picture was him.

Gonzalez was charged with home invasion and other charges and was held on $100,000 bond.
