Mayor Finch, Council Members, State Legislators Join School Children to Celebrate Black Rock School Groundbreaking New addition will bring 10 new classrooms, gymnasium and new playgrounds BRIDGEPORT, CT (October 8, 2013) – Black Rock School students cheered and joined in the effort as Mayor Bill Finch, Supt. Paul G. Vallas, City Council members, State Representatives and tradespeople turned over the ‘ceremonial’ dirt for the new addition to Black Rock School on Tuesday afternoon. The 18,000 square-foot addition includes 10 new classrooms, a multipurpose room that can serve as a gymnasium and assembly space, elevator access to all floors to make it ADA compliant, two new playground structures and a new entrance area on School Street. Police Recover Vehicle Taken in Reported Carjacking

#Bridgeport, CT – Oct. 7, 2013 – Police recovered a vehicle stolen in a reported carjacking Sunday on Wood Avenue. Officer Raymond Ryan checked a parking garage on Poplar Street while searching for a vehicle taken in a carjacking early in the day. He located it and the detective bureau seized and towed it. The incident happened about six hours earlier. The victim, from Norwalk, told Officer Donald Matejek that he was sitting in his 2001 Nissan Quest when an unknown male approached, opened his door and demanded his cell phone, wallet and keys. Senior citizens busted on drug possession

 #Westport CT—Officers initiated a motor vehicle stop on a motor home that was observed travelling through a red light at the intersection of Riverside Ave and Treadwell Ave. Subsequent to the motor vehicle stop the operator admitted to having a quantity of marijuana in the vehicle.
