Teen Faces Drugs Counts After Bicycle Stop

#Bridgeport, CT – Sept. 20, 2013 – A 16-year-old male faces narcotics charges after he was detained by officers addressing a recent increase in street robberies. Officers Roderick Doda and Roberto Quintanilla were participating in a city-wide effort to address an emerging pattern of street robberies. The pattern involves groups of young people on bikes or scooters committing street robberies and assaults. From what has been observed, the incidents appear to be crimes of opportunity and involve young males riding in numbers, often with two on the same bike. Aerial Support Need For Kayaker In Distress

7:07pm--#Milford CT--#cttfire--Milford fire has requested aerial support for a helicopter in locating a kayaker in Housatonic River.  Stratford marine units on the way for mutual aid.  Reports say the kayaker is blowing a whistle but they apparently have not located him yet.  Eagle One also requested and should be there before the Coast Guard.  7:35pm--UPDATE--Sounds like they located him, they called off the choppers.

Scooter Theft Leads to Arrest

#Bridgeport, CT – Sept 20, 2013 – A Hancock Avenue man faces larceny and drug charges as a result of a police investigation into a stolen scooter. On Wednesday shortly before 5 p.m., Officer Adam Roscoe responded to Benham AvenueWednesday on a report of a stolen scooter. He received a description of the moped and suspect. Then at 9:47 p.m., Roscoe learned that police had conducted a motor vehicle stop involving a scooter on Poplar Street, about a dozen blocks from the theft. He responded and encountered Sgt. James Myers and Anthony Gianpoalo  interviewing a male and female. Roscoe checked the vehicle identification number on the scooter, which appeared to be freshly painted, and it matched the stolen one.
