12:12pm–#Bridgeport CT–Police EMS on scene where a child and an adult have been hit by a car at Englewood Avenue and Main Street. No word on injuries but two ambulances have been sent to the scene. Witnesses said that mom was on her cell phone and wasn’t paying attention when she darted into traffic.

(Bridgeport, CT) — A woman and her daughter were injured this afternoon when they were struck by a car while crossing Main Street.
Their injuries are not life threatening. The driver of the car remained at the scene.
The accident happened shortly after noon near the intersection of Englewood Avenue.
According to investigators, the mother and daughter were crossing west on Main Street when they were struck by a northbound car. The female driver attempted to brake and swerve to miss the two pedestrians.
Betty Coby, who is approximately 45 years old, and her 7-year-old daughter were struck. Both were conscious and alert at the scene.
The driver of the car was identified as Priscilla Nobrega, 22, of Fairfield. The accident remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
What is going on with all these hit and runs of pedestrians? How many have there been in last couple months? How many caught? There are too many unlicensed and uninsured drivers in Bridgeport!
