5:25pm--#Fairfield CT--Man working in a tree just amputated his thumb on Orchard Hill Drive. Firefighters on the scene working to get him out of the tree.
Monroe Volunteer Fire Department Hosts Annual Awards Night
On June 15th, the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) recognized several firefighters and police officers for their life-saving actions at two different incidents over the past year. MVFD Chief William Davin presented life safety awards to Lieutenant John Lombardi of the MVFD along with Sergeant Jay Torresso, Officer Jeffrey Loomis, and Officer Amanda Sears of the Monroe Police Department. In April, before fire trucks arrived on scene, all four entered a smoky house fire on Squire Road and pulled an unconscious man out of the home and started to render emergency care. 1:06pm--#cttraffic--Give way and be alert for a white van traveling on the Merritt Parkway northbound. Many calls from Norwalk to now "no man's land" in Fairfield/Westport for the van unable to maintain a lane.
Armed robbery by teens
11:51pm--A man was just robbed by 5 teens at Grand and Oak Street, taken was his wallet. One of the teens had a gun and another a knife. The victim just showed up at St. Vincent's Hospital for injuries received from the robber. The teens got his phone and wallet.
