No Happy Ending At Pleasant Moments Cafe

Friday the 13th was a most unlucky day for one patron at the Pleasant Moment Cafe at 1 William Street in Bridgeport. Shortly after midnight police were called to the cafe, officers quickly called for a supervisor who in turn called detectives to investigate what they are calling an untimely death. There were no signs of foul play, no bruises or contusions.   Police suspect he might have been diabetic, they continue their investigation.

Legislators Protest Slated Closure of Norwalk Social Security Office

WASHINTON, DC – Senator Joseph Lieberman (ID-CT), Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Congressman Jim Himes (D-CT) today sent a letter to Michael Astrue, the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration (SSA), expressing serious concerns with the SSA’s decision to close the Norwalk Social Security Office and relocate its employees. “We are writing today to express our serious concerns with your office’s decision to close the Norwalk Social Security Office and relocate its employees to the other local offices within the Norwalk service district. Hundreds rally in city after teen’s homicide

BRIDGEPORT -- Teenagers, mothers whose children have been shot and killed on the city's streets, babies in strollers, preteen girls -- hundreds of them poured onto Stratford Avenue on Wednesday night to rally against the kind of senseless violence that led to the death of 14-year-old Justin Thompson on Sunday.  Thompson was gunned down about 12:20 a.m. on Seaview Avenue while walking home with his friends after a 16th birthday party.  Read full article.... Ringing iPhone stops New York Philharmonic

Tuesday night's New York Philharmonic performance of the Mahler Ninth was stopped dead by an unusual instrument--the iPhone. the offending phone owner was in the front rows of Avery Fisher Hall when his phone went off, just 13 bars before the last page of the score. Middletown School Responds to “Scream Rooms” Outrage

Students say they can hear classmates screaming. The day after parents of Farm Hill Elementary School students in Middletown expressed outraged about the way the school is dealing with misbehaving students, the school is making some changes. Parents who attended a board of education meeting on Tuesday night were upset about teachers and staff putting the children, including those with special needs, in what they called "scream rooms."
